First images emerge of Syrian airbase bombed by Trump
The first images have emerged of the Syrian airbase bombed by Donald Trump.
The White House has claimed that the attack was a retaliatory strike over the alleged use of chemical weapons by the Syrian regime and no people were targeted.
But Syrian state media has claimed that the missile attack has claimed seven lives, including four children.
The first pictures of the devastation caused by the attack have emerged, showing collapsed building structures and rubble and a damaged runway.
But despite the damaged wreaked by the airstrike, some aircraft and hangars remained intact, while the runway is reportedly still intact.
Earlier, the US Government released dramatic pictures of the launch of its Tomahawk missiles – said to be a one-off and not the start of a wider military campaign.
