First picture of man, 24, killed in A50 collision
The grieving family of a 24-year-old man killed in an A50 collision have been left with a 'void' in their lives. Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses over the incident in Uttoxeter which claimed the life of Solomon Victory-Daly.
Now Solomon's family have spoken of their devastation as they continue to try to come to terms with the fatal collision. As reported by StokeonTrentLive police and paramedics had been called to reports of a collision between a HGV and a pedestrian on the westbound carriageway between the Ashbourne Road and Derby Road roundabouts just after 2.30am on May 11.
West Midlands Ambulance Service, which sent two ambulances, said that despite everyone's efforts nothing could be done to save Solomon, of Uttoxeter. His family say all who knew him have been left 'deeply affected'.
In a tribute issued today, they said: "Solomon, your loss has devastated us. We’re reeling from the sudden void in our lives. All who knew you are deeply affected. Son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, partner and friend. You’ll always be loved, never forgotten. Rest in peace.”
Collision investigators are keen to hear from anyone travelling along the A50 from around 1.45am onwards on May 11.
A police spokesman said: "The driver of the HGV is helping collision investigators with their enquiries. We’re keen to speak to anyone who was traveling in the area, along the A50 from 1.45am onwards on Saturday in particular, with any dashcam footage which could help collision investigators. The collision happened between the Derby Road roundabout and the McDonald’s roundabout."
Witnesses should call the police on 101 and quote incident number 129 of May 11. Alternatively email the collision investigators directly on ciu@staffordshire.police.uk.
