Fishponds residents evacuated from homes after old grenade found

Homes in Fishponds were evacuated today after an old grenade was found. Avon and Somerset Police were called to Homefield Drive this morning (Monday, May 6).

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team attended the scene as people were evacuated as a precaution. A woman told Bristol Live that her mother was evacuated from her home at around 9.40am.

Avon and Somerset Police said: "Officers are currently at Homefield Drive, in Fishponds, following a report of a suspected old grenade being discovered this morning.
