Five people injured in Coffee Co. wreck

COFFEE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) – Five people were in a motor vehicle accident Saturday night in Coffee County.

According to the Elba Fire Department, four of the victims were flown by helicopter to appropriate trauma facilities by four different agencies. The other victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.

The wreck happened on Saturday night just before 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 189 and Highway 141 in rural Coffee County.

Multiple agencies responded to the accident and assisted with patient care, secured the vehicles, and coordinated the landing of multiple air ambulances.

Elba Fire Department released the information early Sunday and has not sent any further updates in the case. The cause of the crash is unknown as crews continue to investigate.
