Five people taken to hospital after two-vehicle crash on A19 near Dalton Park
Five people have been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the A19.
Police and paramedics were called to a collision northbound near Dalton Park in Seaham at around 12.40pm on May 1. The North East Ambulance Service sent two ambulance crews to the scene, along with a duty officer and Hazardous Area Response Team.
Paramedics transferred five patients to Sunderland Royal Hospital for further treatment.

A NEAS spokesperson said: "Whilst on-route back to their stations this afternoon (Wednesday 1 May), two ambulance crews were alerted to a road traffic incident on the A19 northbound near Dalton Park in Seaham.
"We dispatched an additional duty officer and crew from our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to the scene. Five patients were taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital for further treatment."
A Durham Constabulary spokesperson said: "Police were called at 12.40pm today to a two-vehicle collision on the A19 northbound near the Dalton Park junction. A number of people have been taken to hospital following the incident."
