Flash Flood Warnings Issued for Kauai
Weather officials warned parts of Hawaii to prepare for potential flash flooding as a line of rainstorms moved over the islands April 11 into April 12.
Satellite images taken by the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) show a “broad band of rain and embedded thunderstorms” affecting Kauai.
The heavy rain triggered school closures in Kauai, according to local reports. A flash flood warning was in effect for Kauai County until 9 am Friday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Credit: CSU/CIRA & NOAA via Storyful
