New musical express
A different kind of Valentine’s serenading as the VO5 NME Awards kicked off at the O2 Academy in Brixton, where Liam Gallagher was bequeathed the Godlike Genius award and the Best International Band Haim girls ran off to Kadie’s bar to knock back Copper Dog whisky well into the night.
It was a right cigar-shaking contest at Bourdon House for the Dunhill pre-Bafta party, where Freddie Fox, Matt Smith and Sir Michael Caine quaffed champers and Martin Freeman got caught up in an almighty group selfie.
An ever so bubbly bunch of bright young things popped up at Restaurant Ours to neck Perrier-Jouët, where Tess Ward, Frankie Herbert and Bee Beardsworth wore their own red carpets and a thirsty Oliver Cheshire cracked open his gift box bottle of warm fizz.

As Sadlers Wells dancers gallivanted in 80s punk styling, no head was left unturned by the witty spectacle.
