The Flash star Grant Gustin has revealed his condition for potentially returning to the role.

The actor famously played the role of Barry Allen across seven seasons of the CW show, which came to an end last year, as well as other Arrowverse series.

While he has now said goodbye to the Scarlet Speedster, Gustin has admitted that he would be willing to return to DC should new boss James Gunn give him a call.

Responding to a fan question at a recent signing about whether he would do it if Gunn asked him, the actor replied (via TikTok): “Yeah, if James Gunn asked me to play The Flash, I would do it again. I trust James Gunn.”

Gunn and Peter Safran were announced as the new heads of DC Studios in 2022, and have a number of big projects in the pipeline, including movie Superman: Legacy, which will star David Corenswet as Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.

Meanwhile, last year Gustin reflected on The Flash's finale, which ended with Barry and wife Iris (Candice Patton) adjusting to life as parents with their daughter.

"I’ve been talking a lot about his family," the actor told Deadline.

"The show was always about family, and we finish it off by Barry and Iris bringing Nora into their world and into the family and going into the future together – and we saw that glimpse into 2049 and Team Flash is still together protecting the city.

"So I think it was just a good testament and indication of what the show had always been and that there was a lot of hope on the horizon as we wrapped up the last couple episodes."

The Flash aired on The CW in the US. Sky Showcase and NOW air the show in the UK.
