Flavor Flav Gifts Billie Eilish a Custom, Barbie-Themed Clock Necklace at 2024 Vanity Fair Oscars Party
Eilish and her brother, Finneas, took home Best Original Song at the 2024 Oscars for their 'Barbie' soundtrack cut, 'What Was I Made For?'
Flavor Flav had a special gift for Billie Eilish following her second Academy Award win.
After the "Bad Guy" singer and her brother/collaborator Finneas took home Best Original Song for their hit Barbie soundtrack cut "What Was I Made For?" at the 2024 Oscars on Sunday, the Public Enemy rapper gifted her a custom, Barbie-themed clock necklace at the Vanity Fair afterparty.
Flav, 64, wore a Barbie-themed clock necklace of his own — featuring his name printed in the Mattel doll's classic font — to the event, held at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. There, he met up with Eilish, 22, and presented her with a similar necklace featuring her name.
The pair stood with Jon Batiste while the moment went down, and Eilish screamed in response to the gift before photographing Flav as he held up the necklace. Then, they shared a hug and took photos together.
During the 2024 Oscars ceremony, Eilish and Finneas won Best Original Song over “I’m Just Ken" from Barbie, “The Fire Inside” from Flamin’ Hot, “It Never Went Away” from American Symphony, and "Wahzhazhe (A Song for My People)" from Killers of the Flower Moon.
The win marked the sibling duo's second in the category, as they previously took home the award for "No Time to Die" from the James Bond film of the same name in 2022.
"I had a nightmare about this last night," Eilish said as she took the stage after a sweet hug with presenter Ariana Grande. "I didn't think this would happen, I wasn't expecting this. I feel so incredibly lucky and honored."
The "Happier Than Ever" artist thanked the Academy and Barbie director Greta Gerwig, saying, "I'm so grateful for this song and this movie and the way that it made me feel, and this goes out to everyone who was affected by the movie and how incredible it is."
Later, Eilish gave a shout-out to her longtime best friend Zoey for "playing Barbies with me growing up and being by my side forever."
She then gave a sweet mention to two impactful instructors in her life. "I want to thank like my dance teachers growing up. I want to thank my choir teachers — Ms. Bringham, thanks for believing in me. Ms. T, you didn’t like me but you were good at your job. And thank you to the Academy! I love you!"
Since its July 2023 release, "What Was I Made For?" has peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned both best original song at the Golden Globes and song of the year at the Grammys.
