Travel tech firm FlixBus is set to launch its budget-friendly services in Hull, with fares on the route starting from £2.99.

Tickets are now up for grabs for a daily service, kicking off on Thursday 1 August 2024, connecting Hull, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Manchester Airport.

The services will operate from Hull Paragon Interchange, providing passengers with an easy way to travel to and from the city centre while linking Hull to the broader FlixBus network.

FlixBus will be the first travel service to offer a direct link between Hull and Liverpool, eliminating the need for changes. The route will encompass Liverpool's One Bus Station and Wavertree Shopping Centre.

The Hull route will also provide a direct journey to and from Manchester Airport, for as little as £7.99. The trip will take three hours 25 minutes.

Andreas Schorling, Managing Director of FlixBus UK, commented: "Adding the city of Hull on to our ever-expanding map of destinations in the UK is a significant step in our quest to become the largest coach network in the country."

"We take pride in connecting the North of England through our convenient and comfortable travel options, offering affordable, sustainable routes to cities that are underserved by other transport operators."

Councillor Mark Ieronimo, who holds the cabinet portfolio for transportation, roads and highways at Hull City Council, expressed his delight: "The council is delighted to welcome FlixBus to Hull and is excited by the increased choice that the company will bring to our city for travel across the North of England for our residents."

"The connection to Manchester Airport will be particularly beneficial, as we know that many people in the city use the airport for international travel and having a direct service offer will provide real convenience."
