For the second straight day school buses will remained parked on the morning commute because of concerns surrounding the weather.

Transportation officials in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent say heavy fog gets the blame this time.

However, this time only morning buses are listed as cancelled. Afternoon service is expected to operate as normal across area school boards.

On Tuesday, freezing rain and ice build-up in some areas shutdown school bus service in both locations for the day.

As of 6:15 a.m. Monday, Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent were under a fog advisory with "near zero visibility" expected in some spots.

"Dense fog is expected to continue this morning," the weather agency said in a statement.

"Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance."

Temperatures are expected to rise to around 3 C later on Wednesday with periods of rain or drizzle.
