Food Service Workers Strike at San Fransisco Airport Day Before Thanksgiving

Airport food service workers went on strike at San Francisco International Airport on November 24 to call for health care benefits, union officials said.

“Food service companies at San Francisco International Airport are cheating frontline workers out of their health care – right as travel rebounds and COVID cases surge,” Unite Here Local 2, a union for hospitality workers in San Francisco and San Mateo, said.

According to the union, airport food service workers haven’t had a pay raise since 2018. Storyful has contacted San Francisco International Airport for comment.
