Yahoo News Footage shows moment suspected Finsbury Park attacker was arrested
Footage has emerged of the moment the suspect in the Finsbury Park mosque attack was arrested by police.
The suspect has been named as 47-year-old dad-of-four Darren Osborne.
One man has died and at least 10 were injured, two ‘very seriously’, after a car was driven into Muslim worshippers in north London, in an attack police are treating as a terrorist incident.
An imam has been praised as a “hero” for guarding Osborne, the driver who is suspected of the attack, until the police arrived.
Mohammed Mahmoud was said to have used his body to shield the suspected terrorist, who had been wrestled from his vehicle, from the fury of onlookers near the Finsbury Park mosque in north London.
He is said to have told the gathering crowd: “Do not touch him.”
Abdulrahman Saleh Alamoudi, who was at the nearby Muslim Welfare House last night, said he was among a group of people helping an elderly worshipper who had fallen down, possibly due to the heat, when the van swerved towards them.

He told BuzzFeed News: “This big van just came and went all over us.
“I think at least eight or 10 people got injured. Luckily I managed to escape. And then the guy came out of his van and I got him.
“He was screaming, he was saying, ‘I’m going to kill all Muslims, I’m going to kill all Muslims’. He was throwing punches.”
Metropolitan Police Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu said: “This is being treated as a terrorist attack.
“The attack unfolded whilst a man was receiving first aid from the public at the scene; sadly, he has died.
“Any causative link between his death and the attack will form part of our investigation. It is too early to state if his death was as a result of the attack.”
London mayor Sadiq Khan said the attack was “an assault on all our shared values of tolerance, freedom and respect.”
“We don’t yet know the full details, but this was clearly a deliberate attack on innocent Londoners, many of whom were finishing prayers during the holy month of Ramadan,” he said.
Theresa May called the attack “every bit as sickening” as other recent terrorist incidents.
“This was an attack on Muslims near their place of worship… And like all acts of terrorism it seeks to drive us apart,” she said.
A 48-year-old man has been arrested. He has been taken to hospital as a precaution and will be taken into custody once discharged, police said.
