A CRAVEN fundraising football team took part in a Total Warrior obstacle course raising thousands of pounds for Alzheimer's Research UK.

Cross Hills based Craven for Change was asked by the dementia charity to take part in the weekend event in Leeds with each of the 17 taking part given a target of raising £150. Families and friends of the club took part, ranging in ages of 20 to 54 years, completing the 6k course and finishing up with a total £3,696 - way over the target.

Earlier this year, Craven for Change, which plays matches at South Craven School, was amongst an audience of more than 400 special anniversary show of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway. Everyone in the audience had been invited along because of their good work or fundraising for charities.

Craven for Change was set up in 2022 by a group of friends who wanted to get fit, play football and at the same time raise money for good causes.
