Although Lincoln has experienced some lovely sunshine in recent days, things will be taking a turn this weekend as wet conditions are expected for the city. The Met Office has predicted heavy rain and unsettled conditions across Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7.

Heavy rain is expected to start at around 9pm on Friday, July 5, and this will continue until around 6am. From this point until 4pm there are light showers forecast constantly across the day.

Light showers are expected around 10am on Sunday, followed by more rain from 4pm until after 7pm. Whilst Monday, July 8, appears fairly overcast and dry, the wet weather is set to return on Tuesday, July 9, with heavy rain from 4am until after 7pm forecast.

Regarding the East Midlands forecast, the Met Office states: "Hazy sunshine to start the evening, although the cloud will be thickening from the south ahead of outbreaks of rain, locally heavy, which will spread steadily northeastwards across the region overnight. Minimum temperature 10 °C."

Adding for Saturday: "Sunny spells and scattered blustery showers which may be heavy and potentially thundery at times. Maximum temperature 17 °C." However, the outlook for Sunday to Tuesday warns: "Sunny spells and showers on Sunday and Monday, locally heavy with a risk of thunder. Sunshine becoming hazy Monday evening, with cloud, wind and rain arriving Tuesday. Rather cool."
