Foreign Office adds countries to 'blacklist' and warns UK tourists 'do not travel'

The Foreign Office has "blacklisted" countries with UK tourists urged to avoid. The Foreign Office is advising against all travel to large parts of Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories, and all but essential travel to the rest of the country.

It also has "do not travel" warnings for Belarus and warns "all but essential travel warning for significant parts of" Kosovo. Russia and Ukraine both have "do not travel warnings", as does Iraw, Iran, Israel, Lebanon and also "Occupied Palestinian territories".

Many countries in the Middle East are on the 'no travel' list with Syria and Yemen affected too. In Africa, there are warning sofe Burkina Faso and Cameroon and Chad. In Burkina Faso, the Foreign Office warns: "Do not travel and all but essential travel warning."

In Cameroon, the FCDO says: "Do not travel and all but essential travel warning." In Chad, it adds: "Do not travel and all but essential travel warning." In the Americas, Haiti has a "do not travel" alert and in Venezuela the Foreign Office says: "Do not travel and all but essential travel warning."

In Afghanistan, the Foreign Office states: "Do not travel." It adds: "In Myanmar do not travel and all but essential travel warning for significant parts of the country. In North Korea all but essential travel warning; borders have not reopened since Covid."

In a warning to Pakistan holidaymakers and visitors, it says: "Do not travel and all but essential travel warning for significant parts of the country." "Search for a country or territory - you can sign up for email updates on its page," the FCDO adds. The warnings have come ahead of the big summer getaway for passengers and holidaymakers across the country.
