Forest Fire Smoke Fills Sky Near Marion, North Carolina

A forest fire burning on Pogue Mountain near Marion, North Carolina, grew to about 300 acres as of the afternoon on Wednesday, December 1, according to local satellite reports.

No structures were threatened as of Wednesday as fire crews worked to contain the blaze that ignited on Tuesday afternoon, local media reported.
