Forest Green Rovers announce their retained list as 12 senior professionals depart

Forest Green Rovers release 12 senior professionals as they announce their released and retained list.

Harvey Bunker, Charlie McCann, Tyrese Omotoye, Fiachra Pagel, Amadou Bakayoko, Kyle McAllister, Jamie Robson, Marcel Lavinier, Ryan Inniss, Christian Doidge, Alfie Bendle, Jordan Moore-Taylor, Jamie Searle, Emmanuel Osadebe, Jacob Maddox and Teddy Jenks will all begin the 2024/25 season under contract.

Nathan Holland, Dom Bernard, Darnell Johnson, Mathew Stevens, Jordon Garrick, Sean Robertson, Alex Gorrin, Fankaty Dabo, David Davis, Reece Brown, Richard Keogh and Luke Daniels have all been released by the club.

Two notable players that have been released by the Rovers are Bernard and Stevens.

Bernard, who had been with the club since the summer of 2019, made just shy of 200 league appearances and had been involved in 37 league games this season with 26 starts.

Stevens had remained a key player when Rob Edwards arrived at the club, having scored 23 goals in the Rovers’ 2021/22 title-winning campaign.

The 26-year-old had struggled for games this season with injury, but finished as the club’s top goal scorer with nine goals in 28 appearances.

Despite having those 16 players retained and under contract this season, it would still be unsurprising to see a few depart, with the potential of summer signings from other clubs back in the Football League.

Forest Green have also announced that youth players Jack Carter, Finley Bell and Murphy Bennett have also been released.
