Gloucester-born midfielder Harrison Sohna will make his third friendly appearance for Cheltenham Town at Evesham United on Friday night (7pm kick-off).

The 22-year-old has been on trial with the Robins since the start of pre-season training, featuring in the wins at Bishop's Cleeve and Bath City.

Formerly with Aston Villa and Sunderland, Sohna has impressed and could be on his way to earning a contract with the League Two club.

He made one EFL Cup appearance for Sunderland, along with three outings in the EFL Trophy after joining them from Villa in July 2021.

Sohna had earlier made his senior debut for the Villans in an FA Cup tie against Liverpool in January 2021, scoring for their Under-21s in an EFL Trophy match against Carlisle United. His twin brother Myles was also on the books of Villa.

Meanwhile, defender Luke Hallett and forward Deon Moore have now departed after their trial periods with Cheltenham.

Former Southampton and Forest Green Rovers prospect Hallett, 21, performed well in both friendlies, but boss Michael Flynn is believed to be looking for more EFL experience as he strengthens a backline shorn of Curtis Davies, Lewis Freestone and Sean Long this summer.

Guyana international Moore, who was at Sutton United last season, scored at Kayte Lane and Twerton Park, but Cheltenham are pursuing other targets in his position. The 25-year-old has previously been with Peterborough United and Bristol Rovers.

Aidan Keena will make his first appearance of the summer against Southern League Division One South side Evesham.

The forward has resumed full contact training following shoulder surgery immediately after the end of last season.

Summer signing Luke Young will again not be risked due to a minor issue, while Harry Pell and Matty Taylor will both be assessed as a precaution.
