Lowland League side Albion Rovers have announced their first summer signing with the arrival of midfielder Paul Kennedy.

The former Celtic youngster, who spent three years at the Hoops before he joined Clyde in 2021, will be familiar with the Lowland League, having spent last season at Rovers' fifth tier rivals Broomhill. Kennedy made 28 league appearances for the team and netted seven goals.

After sealing his deal at Cliftonhill, Kennedy told the club website: “I like to get on the ball and make things happen. I know Sandy and George well and I knew this was the place to come and progress my career. We will get a good team together and push up the league as high as possible.”

Rovers fans could get their first glimpse of the new signing today when they face Airdrieonians in a pre-season friendly at New Broomfield. Kick-off is 3pm.

Meanwhile, midfielder Dom McMahon has signed a new deal at the club. The 23-year-old only missed one league match last term and he said: "It is brilliant to be back. I wanted to be here. It has been great seeing the boys and some new faces. We want to kick on. I want to kick on. I had a brilliant season last year.”
