Inter Milan have clinched their 20th Serie A title after a thrilling 2-1 victory over city rivals AC Milan at the San Siro, with Fikayo Tomori's consolation goal not enough to deny his rivals' celebrations.

Francesco Acerbi and Marcus Thuram were on target for Inter, securing the crucial three points needed to be declared champions, despite a late scare when former Chelsea man Tomori netted for the hosts.

The Nerazzurri sealed the championship with five matches remaining, boasting a comfortable 17-point lead over their neighbours, who could only have delayed the inevitable with a win or draw.

Inter took control early on with Acerbi's header in the 18th minute, and Thuram's strike shortly after the break put them firmly on the path to their 20th league triumph.

Tomori's goal made for a nail-biting finale in a heated encounter that saw red cards shown to Inter's Denzel Dumfries and AC Milan duo Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria in added time.

Elsewhere, Bologna are keeping their Champions League dreams alive after a convincing 3-1 win over Romelu Lukaku's Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.

Bologna now sit just two points behind third-placed Juventus and seven ahead of fifth-placed Roma, thanks to goals from Oussama El Azzouzi and Joshua Zirkzee.

Roma managed to claw back a goal after the interval with Sardar Azmoun finding the net, but Bologna maintained their dominance and secured the victory thanks to Alexis Saelemaekers' second-half strike.

Meanwhile, in La Liga action, Sevilla clinched a 2-1 win at home against Mallorca, courtesy of goals from Youssef En-Nesyri and Isaac Romero in the second half. Abdon Prats managed to pull one back for the visitors late on.
