Former Coronation Street star Hayley Tamaddon shares new diagnosis struggle after hospital visit

Former Coronation Street actress, Hayley Tamaddon, has shared her recent health scare with fans, detailing the challenges of managing her own health while being a 'single working mum'.

The star, also known for her roles in Emmerdale and as a champion of ITV's Dancing On Ice, took to social media late on Wednesday evening (June 12) to share that she had been rushed to hospital after experiencing severe pain and was subsequently put on a drip.

Hayley described waking up to such intense pain that she thought her "head was gonna explode," followed by bouts of vomiting. The actress, who became a mother to her son Jasper in 2019, explained that upon reaching the hospital, she was immediately put on a medication drip and was diagnosed with arthritis.

She revealed her "head and neck pain was still horrendous" even after the treatment, leading to a significant diagnosis. In a post to her 98,300 followers, Hayley recounted: "Today. Woke up. Thought my head was gonna explode. Puked up twice. Took Jasper to nursery. Got ready for a photo shoot. Got there and realised I really should see a doctor. Ended up in hospital. On a drop for medication. It didn't work."

She continued: "Head and neck pain still horrendous. Had a scan. Got told I have arthritis. Came home. Picked jasper up. Made tea. Put him to bed. Took some tablets. Had a cry Going back to the hospital tomorrow. Life of a single working mum.", reports the Manchester Evening News.

According to NHS guidelines, arthritis is a common condition that causes pain and inflammation within a joint. Osteoarthritis typically develops in individuals aged 45 and over, often leading to cartilage loss in severe instances. Rheumatoid arthritis, which is related to the immune system, can affect people as young as 30.

Hayley had shared in the past that her son Jasper had been rushed to hospital. Informing her followers, she revealed the toddler "couldn't stop being sick", and underwent "lots of tests" as medics tried to diagnose his condition.

Hayley's acting credits include her roles as Del Dingle in Emmerdale from 2005 to 2007, and Andrea Beckett on Coronation Street from 2013 until 2015. The talented actress also won Dancing On Ice in 2010, partnered with professional skater Daniel Whiston.

More recently, she graced the stage in the production of Everybody's Talking About Jamie.
