Former Home and Away star Lukas Radovich opens up over his sexuality

Former Home and Away star Lukas Radovich has spoken about his sexuality in a new interview.

The actor, who played Ryder Jackson on the soap until last year, said he felt "comfortable enough to be able to talk about it", explaining he had been discovering himself in the last few years.

"I definitely think when I was in my young twenties, I was still discovering myself and that now I feel comfortable enough to be able to talk about it," Lukas told Australia's Daily Telegraph (via Daily Mail).

"The last five years have been quite a big journey for me; one, because of the show, but also too coming into my own sense of self, just being comfortable I guess."

The star revealed that he came out to family and friends before he joined the soap six years ago, and has been dating professional men's netballer Liam Forcadilla for three years.

"I am quite a shy person by nature, quite introverted, so it takes a while for me to warm up to talking about things. And then after that it just wasn't an issue," he added.

"[Liam] is actually the first person I introduced [to] my parents; that was my way of telling them," he added.

Following his exit from Home and Away last year, Lukas reflected on his time on the soap in a goodbye message.

"What an incredible ride. I can't really express how the last 5 years has felt or impacted my life so I'll keep it short," he said at the time.

"I'll miss the job, but most importantly I'll miss the people."
