Manchester United's academy is set to face a team put together by ex-United youth standout Febian Brandy at this summer's SuperCupNI. Having been a part of the United academy from a young age, Brandy rose through the ranks to become an integral player for the reserve side under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Hailing from Moss Side, Brandy was once hailed as one of the most promising prospects within the Old Trafford academy, earning several accolades and even securing a spot on the bench during a Champions League match. However, after a series of loans in his late teens, he left Old Trafford permanently on a free transfer in 2010, later playing for the likes of Sheffield United, Notts County, and Rotherham before retiring in 2018.

Post-retirement, Brandy has launched Skouted, an innovative digital platform aimed at footballers of all skill levels and ages, offering them exposure to professional scouts, reports the Manchester Evening News. In a 2021 interview with the MEN, Brandy reflected on his time at United: "I was quite fortunate to be at United for as long as I was, but each year I was seeing players fall out of love with football and they might not have had the ability to play for United, but they could have played at a 'lesser' club.

"They just didn't have the connections to stay within the game. Skouted is a platform where you can put yourself in the shop window continuously with video footage to maximise your opportunities to get scouted. I've been in positions where there are no scouts around and your agent might not be doing anything - scouts now want to see some sort of footage before they progress further."

Skouted has seen a surge in success over the recent years, and for Brandy, it's a moment of pride as his squad faces off against United's academy. The Red Devils have been long-standing participants of the SuperCupNI, and their academy is set to join once more, this time clashing with a Skouted team.

Football icons such as David Beckham, Paul Scholes, and Marcus Rashford have all donned the United jersey at the SuperCupNI, and the club's future stars are poised to make their mark this summer. Skouted's lineup will feature players from across the UK, all eager to catch the eyes of scouts through the company's app, which showcases daily highlight clips of the players.
