Plans to convert a former Nottinghamshire pub into a home have been approved. The Maypole in Skegby will be transformed into a four-bedroom property.

The pub in Dawgates Lane was put on the market for around £395,000 after its closure in June 2023. It was bought by Susan Ronaldson and Nigel Dickerson, whose plans were given the green light by Ashfield District Council.

The present living room upstairs will be turned into a bedroom, making four in total. Downstairs will be a living room, kitchen, dining room, utility room, toilet and study.

The property was purchased under the condition it could not be used for business purposes, marking the end of its use as a pub. The appearance of the pub will not be changed and no extensions will be built.
