Fort Lauderdale Firefighters Mow Veteran's Lawn After Treating His Heat Exhaustion
Firefighters and paramedics stepped in to help finish lawn work that contributed to a case of heat exhaustion for 80-year-old man, causing him to faint, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Monday, October 12.
Crews with Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue (FLFR) Station 47 were dispatched in response to call saying a man had passed out while cutting his grass. Firefighters said that when they arrived, they found an 80-year-old Army veteran suffering from heat exhaustion while caring for his lawn.
This footage shows crews stepping in to finish mowing the man’s lawn after helping him cool down. “This is truly what it is all about,” Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue wrote on Facebook.
