The Fortnite Championship Series (FNCS) is back for another Local Area Network (LAN) event.

This will be the much-loved series’ first-ever global championship offering, with gamers set to take home a whopping $4 million (£3.28 million) in total.

It will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, between October 13 and October 15, and bring together the best players from across the world.

Here is a look at the championship, including what it will involve and how to watch it live.

What is the FNCS championship?

The FNCS is essentially a celebration of the best Fortnite players in the world.

The event will mark the 17th season of the Fortnite Championship Series, welcoming the best gamers from each region’s qualifiers, who will go head-to-head in an international tournament in hopes of being the ultimate winner.

It will be held at Denmark’s Royal Arena in Copenhagen.

What is the prize?

The top players of the tournament will go home with a share of the prize pool.

The winner of the tournament is set to take home $1 million (£816,060), while the runner-up will be awarded $650,000 (£530,439).

The gamer in third place will get to bank $400,000 (£326,424), and those in fourth and fifth places will be rewarded with $300,000 (£244,818) and $200,000 (£163,212), respectively.

The remaining competitors, who all qualify as the best 75 players in the world, will leave with a chunk of money, too.

How to watch FNCS live

Those who want to catch the epic showdown live can tune into Fortnite’s Twitch or YouTube channels.

Both channels will be livestreaming the entire event, allowing fans to get a taste of the competition from the comfort of their homes.

Alternatively, you can watch it in person by getting your hands on a ticket via Ticketmaster.
