Four people assaulted after Euro 2024 England v Slovenia game in Walton

Four people have been assaulted after the Euro 2024 England v Slovenia football game in Walton on Tuesday (June 25). Police say two men and two women were walking across Walton Bridge around 11pm.

A car - a black VW Golf - pulled up, and police say two men got out and assaulted three of them. One woman sustained a black eye, and one of the men had a clump of hair pulled from his head.

Elbridge Beat (Surrey Police) said: "We are appealing for witnesses after four people were assaulted in Walton-On-Thames on Tuesday, 25 June. At around 11pm, two women and two men were walking across Walton Bridge, having watched England play Slovenia in Euro 2024 in the town.

"A black VW Golf pulled up alongside the group and two men got out and assaulted three of them. One of the women sustained a black eye, and a clump of hair was pulled from one of the men.

"The two suspects are described as White men, both aged in their late teens to early 20s. One was of a stocky build and was wearing a white vest top, grey shorts and white trainers.

"The other is described as having dark hair and was wearing a dark-coloured tee shirt and shorts. We are looking to speak to anyone who may have witnessed all or part of this incident or anyone who may have dash cam or helmet cam footage.

"If you have any information that might assist our investigation, please contact us quoting PR/ 45240072005 via DM Surrey Police."
