Four teens arrested on suspicion of attempted knife robbery in alleyway

Four teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery with a knife in an Oxford suburb.

Police were called to the junction of Portland Road and Lonsdale Road in Summertown following reports of a teenage boy being threatened by a group with a knife in an alleyway at around 4.50pm on Monday, April 22.

The group of four demanded the teenage boy hand over his trainers before he managed to escape and get in a taxi down in Lonsdale Road, Thames Valley Police said.

Two 14-year-old boys, a 15-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy, all from Oxford, have been arrested and released on bail.

Lonsdale Road in Summertown (Image: Google Maps)Investigating officer, Detective Constable Michael Lewis, based at Oxford's police station, said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to this attempted robbery, or anyone with information which could help our investigation, to please come forward.

“I would like to appeal specifically to the taxi driver who drove the victim away from the scene and towards South Parade to come forward.
