Fox Reveals Premiere Date for New Jon Hamm-Led Animated Series ‘Grimsburg’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Fox will utilize its NFL doubleheader on Sunday, January 7, to help launch the network’s latest animated comedy, “Grimsburg.” The show, starring Jon Hamm (who also executive produces), will air immediately following the second game in all time zones.

The scheduling strategy was set to be announced on Saturday at the New York Comic-Con, where Fox is holding panels for both “Grimsburg” and its most recent new animated comedy, the Dan Harmon-created “Krapopolis.” At the event, “Grimsburg” showrunner Chadd Gindin planned to discuss his new series and introduce an early screening of the show’s first episode.

Both “Grimsburg” and “Krapopolis” are produced by Bento Box and are wholly owned by Fox. “Grimsburg” has already been given a Season 2 renewal (while “Krapopolis” was picked up for three seasons so far).

“Grimsburg” centers on Marvin Flute (Hamm), described as “maybe the greatest detective ever to catch a cannibal clown and correctly identify a mid-century modern armoire. But there’s one mystery he still can’t crack — himself. To do that he must return to Grimsburg, a town where everyone has a secret or three, and redeem himself in the eyes of his fellow detectives, his ferocious ex-wife and his lovably unstable son.” The show also stars Erinn Hayes (Harmony Flute), Rachel Dratch (Stan Flute), Alan Tudyk (Dr. Rufis Pentos/Mr. Flesh), Kevin Michael Richardson (Det. Greg Summers) and Greg Chun (Lt. John Kang).

Catlan McClelland and Matthew Schlissel created “Grimsburg” and serve as co-executive producers. Chadd Gindin is the showrunner and executive producer. Hamm executive produces in addition to starring. Gail Berman and Hend Baghdady of The Jackal Group also executive produce along with Connie Tavel. Bento Box is the studio.

Also during Fox’s portion of the New York Comic-Con, “Krapopolis” creator/EP Dan Harom and supervising director Pete Michels were on hand to discuss the show’s premiere and screen the upcoming fifth episode, “12 Angry Goat Herders.”
