SDLP leader Colum Eastwood has retained Foyle for his party after comfortably seeing off the challenge of Sinn Fein.

A nationalist-dominated constituency, the SDLP and Sinn Fein have finished in first and second place in Foyle in every election since the 1990s.

And it was the SDLP leader Mr Eastwood who was deemed elected with a total of 15,647 votes. Sinn Fein's Sandra Duffy finished second with 11,481.
