France Marks 10 Years Since Same-Sex Marriage Legalized, on International Day Against Homophobia
Parisians celebrated with an outdoor party on Wednesday, May 17, as France marked 10 years since the country legalized same-sex marriage.
Footage from Mayor Anne Hidalgo shows the celebrations at Place de l’Hotel-de-Ville, which took place as the UN marked the international day against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia.
According to France 24, thousands of same-sex couples have gotten married each year since the legislation passed.
