Free entry to the Chester Cup if you have the right name

Chester Racecourse is paying homage to the 200th anniversary of the Chester Cup by offering free entry to the first 50 people that arrive on the day that share a namesake with a jockey set to ride in the 3:45pm race on Friday, May 10.

Louise Stewart, Chief Executive, Chester Race Company said: “We are delighted to offer this unique opportunity to individuals who share a name with one of the formidable jockeys riding in the 200th anniversary race of the Chester Cup.

"The Chester Cup is not only a highlight of the racing calendar, but also a celebration of the sport's rich traditions and the remarkable athletes who compete at the highest level. So, whether you have the same name as last year’s Chester Cup winner, Saffie Osbourne, or the reigning champion jockey, William Buick, we look forward to welcoming you in for free.”

To take advantage of the offer, punters must be among the first 50 individuals to arrive on Friday, May 10, presenting valid identification that confirms their full name matches that of a jockey participating in the Chester Cup. The first 50 eligible namesakes will receive complimentary entry in the Tatterstalls enclosure, where they can enjoy a day of horse racing action, entertainment, and hospitality.

A full list of the names of jockeys on the day will be revealed on Wednesday, May 8 at chester-races.com .
