Free festival with beer garden and special attractions coming to Suffolk

A free festival with a beer garden and special attractions is coming to a coastal town.

The Southwold Harbour Festival will celebrate 75 years of the town's sailing club, which was established in 1949.

The festivities include entertainment on the Big Stage with the sea shanties of The Lowestoft Longshore Men, young Suffolk band Helix, Big Muddies followed by Frank and the Beans and The Informers after dark.

Special attractions at the event include races between the Walberswick Women's Rowers and the classic boats returning from a race to the White Hart in Blythburgh.

Penny Bun Bakehouse and Stack Shack will be providing food while Green Jack Brewery will be hosting a beer festival on the day.

The festival is taking over the harbour on Saturday, June 29 with entry free for everyone attending.

Parking will be available at the Common Harbour Quay East and West car parks and the Walberswick car park.

On the same day, a street festival will be taking place in the town as part of Southwold Arts Festival.
