Free fuel offer saves you £5 at Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Asda and more

If the cost of refilling your car is making you wince, there's a way to save a fiver at the pumps.

Motorists are facing eye-watering petrol prices, according to the RAC. This week, the motoring group says British drivers are paying petrol and diesel prices "far higher than they should be".

To help ease the burden, we've found one way to save some cash. TopCashback has launched a deal for new members that offers £5 cashback on any type of fuel when you spent £10.

The TopCashback deal starts today (June 21) and will run until 23:59pm on July 27. This deal can be used at a variety of fuel stations, including Tesco, Shell, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Asda, the Co-operative, Esso, BP, Texaco, Gulf, Total, Jet and Murco. Purchases can also be made at other fuel stations.

It's known as a snap and save bonus. To claim your free fuel, you simply need to purchase fuel worth £10 or more, sign up to TopCashback via this link, and take a photo of your receipt.

The image of your receipt must clearly show the date and time of purchase, the name of the petrol station, and the item purchased that qualifies for cashback. The date on your receipt must fall within the offer period, reports Wales Online.

Only in-store transactions are valid for this offer. After submitting your receipt, it may take up to seven days for your cashback to appear in your TopCashback account. Once it appears in your account, it may take up to 30 days to process to payable status, at which point you can withdraw your cashback.

The timing of the offer coincides with petrol prices finally beginning to reduce at the pumps following an increase in wholesale petrol costs, following a report by the RAC.

The average cost of a litre of unleaded finally dropped by 2.4p last month, from 150.31p to 147.88p. This saved UK drivers around £1.30 a tank, with the reduction at supermarkets smaller at just 1.2p.
