New CCTV images show notorious gangster Daniel Gee boarding a train to Liverpool after absconding from prison. Gee absconded from Kirklevington Prison, Stockton, on 27th May which sparked a major police search.

Fresh CCTVreleased by Cleveland Police reportedly shows Gee at the James Cook University Hospital railway station, at around 11.50am on Tuesday, May 28 where it is thought he boarded a train to Middlesbrough by 1.27pm. Further footage shows Gee catching the 2.16pm train from Darlington heading towards Liverpool Lime Street on 28th May.

The exact location of where he disembarked after boarding the Liverpool-bound train remains unknown to authorities, reports the Liverpool Echo. Some have speculated that Gee might have travelled beyond Merseyside, with his brother Darren Gee expressing hope that his younger sibling has fled the country.

Sharing his thoughts on an episode of the Criminal Connection Podcast, Darren said: "[Daniel] has absconded in the last few days. I am hoping it's a planned abscond. If it's an emotional abscond, it's going to go wrong. If it's planned then hopefully he is out the country."

Meanwhile, former prison guard of Strangeways, Neil Samworth pointed out: "Danny, if he got out, could turn his life around...Danny is a parole prisoner. So dependent on what happens is dependent on his future. It's very difficult to get on your toes and stay at large. Lots of people, criminals I knew, went to Spain and the like, living the life. The authorities catch up with you. And you can incriminate other people."

Police are appealing for a woman with a pram, who was seen on CCTV meeting with Gee at the hospital train station between 12pm and 1.30pm on May 28, to come forward. The woman, wearing a leopard print hat, a Barbour style brown jacket and cream trousers, and sporting a knee brace, is believed to have boarded a train with Gee to Middlesbrough, before hopping onto another train bound for Darlington.

CCTV footage reveals that both Gee and the unidentified woman alighted at Darlington and parted ways on the platform. The woman was last seen exiting Darlington train station without Gee, pushing a pushchair towards Yarm Road and the town centre of Darlington.
