“Frozen 4 ”is in the works alongside “Frozen 3”, Bob Iger confirms

The Disney CEO said that "Frozen" creator Jennifer Lee "is hard at work with her team at Disney Animation on not one but actually two stories."

Anna and Elsa will soon be heading into the unknown in not one, but two new Frozen films.

While speaking with Good Morning America from Hong Kong Disneyland’s new World of Arendelle themed land on Thursday, Disney CEO Bob Iger was asked what fans can expect from the franchise’s previously-announced threequel, Frozen 3

“Well, I'll give you a little surprise there Michael,” Iger said. “Frozen 3 is in the works and there might be a Frozen 4 in the works, too.”

Iger admitted that he doesn’t “have much to say about those films” as of right now, but confirmed that original Frozen creator Jennifer Lee “is hard at work with her team at Disney Animation on not one but actually two stories.”

Back in February, Iger announced on a quarterly earnings call that Frozen 3 was in production alongside another installment of Pixar'sToy Story franchise and a sequel to 2016's box office hit, Zootopia.

"We'll have more to share about these productions soon," Iger told investors at the time, "but this is a great example of how we're leaning into our unrivaled brands and franchises."

Speaking with Good Morning America, Iger called Frozen "one of our most valuable franchises" and praised the success of the original 2013 film and its 2019 sequel.

In the last decade, the film series, which stars Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel as royal sisters Anna and Elsa, has also spawned its own Broadway musical and several theme park attractions across the globe, its newest being the World of Arendelle in Hong Kong Disneyland.
