FTWD boss denies shock return for major character in season 5
Fear the Walking Dead boss Ian Goldberg has vetoed a rumour that one of the show's deceased characters is set for a shocking return.
Troy Otto (Daniel Sharman) met his maker back in the third season's finale, after Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) discovered that he was the culprit responsible for leading that massive zombie horde to the ranch, resulting in the deaths of many, including Ofelia and Troy's brother Jake.
Just before the dramatic dam explosion at the end of the series, Troy was smashed on the head with a hammer, so his death was pretty much a given (unlike Madison's own fate, which took longer to be revealed).

Discussing the upcoming fifth season with Digital Spy and other media at WonderCon, Goldberg categorically denied that Troy was set to return, with Victor Strand actor Colman Domingo joking that it's "a nasty rumour".
"Yes, that's just a rumour," Goldberg added. "We thought he was awesome on the show, but he's not returning."
Now, whether or not you choose to believe them is another story – after all, why would they confirm a pretty huge spoiler right before the show returns to our screens?
Elsewhere, The Walking Dead boss Scott Gimple recently teased more crossovers between the flagship series and its spin-off.
"I will say there are different sorts of crossovers we are going to do to tie the shows together, tie the universes together in certain ways that have to do with the greater happenings in the world," he explained.
"In telling stories of the past we might see characters interact, or just see those characters we've not seen in a while."
Fear the Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and on AMC on BT TV in the UK.
