Full diversion route in place for Kent drivers following M20 crash

A diversion is in place after a car struck the central reservation on the M20 near Maidstone. The incident happened this morning (April 27) at around 5.45am, causing long delays in the area.

Drivers have been advised to follow the hollow square diversion symbol on road signs. Traffic is being diverted via the feeder road from J6 and J5.

National Highways traffic officers are still at the scene working to clear the incident and are assisting with traffic management. It reads on traffic monitoring site Inrix: "Main carriageway closed and queueing traffic due to earlier accident and barrier repairs on M20 Westbound from J6 A229 (Maidstone / Blue Bell Hill) to J5 (Aylesford). Congestion to J7 A249 Detling Hill."

A spokesperson for National Highways said: "Traffic Officers are on scene working to clear the incident and are assisting with traffic management."
