As voters go to the polls on July 4, West Tyrone will see a total of seven candidates battle it out in the election. This Westminster seat was created in 1997 from parts of the old Foyle and Mid-Ulster constituencies and has been in Sinn Féin hands since 2001

At the last election in 2019, Sinn Fein's Órfhlaith Begley had a majority of 7,478 votes over Tom Buchanan of the DUP, having been originally elected in a by-election a year earlier following the resignation of Barry McElduff.

The seat was previously held by Pat Doherty of Sinn Féin and prior to 2001 by the UUP's William Thompson.
