The General Election results are in for the main three constituencies in Plymouth. Plymouth Moor View, Plymouth Sutton and Devonport and South West Devon have all declared and their MPs have been elected. Plymouth Moor View has turned red, with Labour's Fred Thomas snatching the seat from Veterans Minister Johnny Mercer.

Mr Thomas, the new MP, received 17,665 votes, securing victory with a 5,604 majority. Mr Mercer came in second, receiving 12,061 votes. Reform's Shaun Hooper was in third place, with 9,670 votes.

South West Devon have also seen a change in MP after Sir Gary Streeter stood down, with Rebecca Smith retaining the seat for the Conservatives with a 4.04% majority.

Plymouth Sutton and Devonport has remained Labour, with Luke Pollard re-elected, with a whopping majority of 13,328.

Plymouth Moor View

The people of Plymouth Moor View have spoken and Johnny Mercer has lost his seat to Labour's Fred Thomas.

Exit polls predicted there was a 99% chance that Mr Mercer, a former British Army captain, would lose his seat to Mr Thomas, a former Royal Marine. In the lead up to July 4, the two candidates, Mr Mercer and Mr Thomas, were embroiled in a bitter row.

Mr Mercer came in second, receiving 12,061 votes. Mr Thomas, the new MP, received 17,665 votes, securing victory with a 5,604 majority. Reform's Shaun Hooper was in third place, with 9,670 votes.

The seat had previously been held by Conservative Johnny Mercer, who had been elected three times prior to the 2024 General Election. In 2019 he won with a 12,897 majority.

There were five candidates standing in Plymouth Moor View. They were Shaun Hooper (Reform UK), Sarah Martin (Lib Dem), Johnny Mercer (Conservative), Georgia Nelson (Green), Fred Thomas (Labour).

Plymouth Sutton and Devonport

The people of Plymouth Sutton and Devonport have spoken and chosen Labour's Luke Pollard to return as their MP, with a whopping majority of 13,328.

Mr Pollard received 20,795 votes and has represented the seat since 2017 when he won it from the Conservatives. In 2019, Mr Pollard won with a 4,757 majority.

Ahead of the election, polls predicted Conservative candidate, Gareth Streeter, would come in third behind Reform's Peter Gold, who used his Star Trek looks to launch his campaign - which was correct.

Mr Gold came second, with 7,467 votes. Mr Streeter came in third with 6,873 votes.

There were nine candidates who stood in Plymouth Sutton and Devonport. They were: Peter Gold (Reform UK), Holly Greenberry-Pullen (Liberal Democrat), Robert Hawkins (Socialist Labour Party ), Cam Hayward (Green), Guy Haywood (Workers Party), Alex Moore (Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition), Luke Pollard (Labour), Chaz Singh (Independent), Gareth Streeter (Conservative).

South West Devon

South West Devon has a brand new MP after Conservative Rebecca Smith was voted in. The constituency was guaranteed to elect a brand new MP, after Sir Gary Streeter stood down.

But the seat has stayed blue, unlike Plymouth Moor View, after Ms Smith received 17,916 votes, winning with a 2,112 (4.04%) majority. Labour's Sarah Allen came in second place with 15,804 votes. Reform's Steve Horner came in third with 9,361 votes.

The previous MP, Sir Gary, was an MP for more than 30 years, representing South West Devon from 1997 to 2024 and previously holding the Plymouth Sutton seat between 1992 and 1997.

At the last election, Mr Streeter won with a 21,430 majority.

There were eight candidates who stood in South West Devon. They were: Sarah Allen (Labour), Julian Brazil (Lib Dem), Ben Davy (Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition), Steve Horner (Reform UK), Darryl Ingram (Heritage Party), Lauren McLay (Green), Rebecca Smith (Con), Alan Spencer (Independent).
