For anyone in need of a little retail therapy or on the hunt for a bargain post Christmas Day then a day out shopping on Boxing Day certainly burns more calories than being slumped in front of the telly. But it's important not to get caught out as not everywhere is open.

Aldi
The discount supermarket chain's 1,000 stores will stay closed on Boxing Day. A spokesperson said Christmas was an "important time" for many of its staff and keeping their stores closed on Boxing Day allowed them to spend more time with family.
Aldi was in the vanguard of retailers deciding to remain closed on feast of St Stephen. The discount supermarket chain is of course closed on Christmas Day too.
It will also be closing its doors for New Year's Day this year too.
Lidl
Like Aldi, Lidl will be shut both Christmas Day and Boxing Day this year. It will also be shutting its stores on New Year's Day as well to give their staff a break over the festive period.
It will be back open on Friday, but opening times will vary across stores so shoppers should always double check before heading down to their local. Customers can check opening times on Lidl's online store finder or on their Lidl rewards app.
Iceland
Iceland and its Food Warehouse stores will also be closing their doors on Boxing Day - on top of Christmas Day - this year. The supermarket chain confirmed that all of its 1,000 Iceland and Food Warehouse stores would be affected.
The frozen food retailer said it wanted to allow hard-working staff more time off to spend with family and friends.
Marks & Spencer
M&S is another high street favourite to be closing its doors on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day this year. Its opening hours across the festive season will vary so shoppers should always check opening times for their local store before heading down.
M&S will be opening stores on Christmas Eve but do check opening times.
Home Bargains
The popular chain is closing all of its UK stores on Boxing Day and New Year's Day for the second year running. It again wants staff to relax and enjoy the Christmas break with their loved ones.
The company also later confirmed that all Home Bargains stores will close at the earlier time of 5pm on Christmas Eve. The company has said it "was only right to support our valued store teams by giving them extended time off around Christmas and New Year".
Poundland
Poundland is another high street chain shutting shops for longer over the festive period. It would be closing Christmas Day and remain closed on Boxing Day and on New Year's Day too.
This is the fifth year that staff across its 800 branches would be given extra time off. The firm said it appreciated just "how hard our colleagues work during the year and closing the stores on these additional days over Christmas and New Year is our way of saying thank you to them".
The Range
The Range is to shut its more than 200 stores on Boxing Day. However, the shops will be open for extended hours in the run up to Christmas.
