Nottingham's tram operator has released further details about an upcoming two-day closure due to maintenance work. There will be no service between Phoenix Park and Wilkinson Street, as well as Bulwell and Wilkinson Street on May 18 and 19.

Nottingham Express Transit (NET) said it will be conducting essential engineering and maintenance work on its tracks, including at the David Lane stop. The operator said affected customers will be offered a tram replacement bus service.

It said five stops would be closed during this time; Phoenix Park, Cinderhill, Highbury Vale, David Lane and Basford. NET has released more details about the replacement bus service.

The loop route will stop at the likes of Bulwell, Phoenix Park, Wilkinson Street and Basford. NET said work will take place around David Lane during the day and night, but said engineers would aim to keep noise to a minimum "wherever possible".

Trevor Stocker, NET head of operations, said: “We’re committed to providing a safe and reliable mode of transport for all our customers, and these upcoming track works are a key part of that. This May, we’ll be replacing parts of the track around the David Lane stop and upgrading elements such as the critical point infrastructure at Highbury Vale, which helps to keep the network running smoothly."

Normal service is expected to resume on May 20.
