Gabourey Sidibe welcomes twins with husband Brandon Frankel: 'They both love cuddling'

The Oscar-nominated actress says the babies "love cuddling" with her and husband Brandon Frankel.

Gabourey Sidibe's newest role is Mom.

The Oscar-nominated actress, known for her work in Precious, American Horror Story: Coven, and Empire, has welcomed twins with husband of three years Brandon Frankel, as first reported by The Shade Room.

The boy and girl arrived early, in the first days of April, according to TSR, which credited a Shutterstock interview with and photos of the new parents and their twins.

"We originally were going in for a routine appointment, only to be told the twins would be coming later that day and not when originally planned," Sidibe said.

She explained that her husband, who works in entertainment branding and marketing, had always wanted to name a son Cooper, so that's what they did, although they call him "Coop." The girl is named Maya, for the Mayan Riviera in Mexico, the location of their babymoon, Sidibe said.

Sidibe added, "Both twins have traditional West African middle names after members of my family."

As for their personalities, they're already beginning to take shape.

"Cooper will sometimes speak for Maya and alert us that she's about to spit up," Sidibe said. "Maya loves her name being sung to her and is the queen of comedic timing, and Cooper loves his sleep and has the funniest facial expressions. They both love cuddling with Mom and Dad."

Sidibe noted that the parents are looking forward to many adventure with their little ones.

"We're excited for outfits and getting them dressed up, for sing-alongs, trips and to explore, and raising them to be good people," she said.

The Seven Psychopaths actress announced in February that she was expecting.

"I'm pregnant!" she said. "We thought it was time to give our cats some responsibility so we're giving them each a baby to take care of! Double the babies, double the cats, double the fun!! Twin Delivery coming soon! Twinty Twinty Four!!"

As of Thursday, Frankel's official Instagram account already described him as, among other things, "Twin Dad."
