Visitors were treated to a more "eclectic and fascinating" collection at an annual county fair amid showers and a call out to a plane crash.

Crowds arrived at the grounds of the Grade I listed Heveningham Hall, near Halesworth, for its Country Fair and Concours.

The two-day event included horse riding displays and a food festival.

Attendees were particularly excited for the Concours event, with around 50 hand-picked cars and many aircrafts to be admired.

The cars were competing for a selection of trophies, which were handed out by a panel of distinguished judges, all of whom had previously worked with some of the world’s most prestigious car makers, including Porsche, McLaren and Bentley.

Lois Hunt is head of the organising committee at Heveningham Hall. She said: “This year, we’ve come up with an even more eclectic and fascinating collection of cars than ever, and we’re delighted to welcome back our panel of judges who have truly written the story of automotive design.

“Style and design are at the very heart of what we do, which is why the Heveningham Concours is like no other event in the world of cars.”

The weekend was roundly enjoyed by all.

On Sunday, an air ambulance was called to the estate, with a spokeswoman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service confirming that a two-seater plane had crashed.

A man and woman received treatment from the ambulance service.

The crash came days after a report from the Air Accidents Investigations Branch was published regarding the plane crash which happened last July.

The report found that the aircraft's landing gear "dug into" a softer sub-soil after touching down before flipping over forwards and ending upside down.

The AAIB report revealed that other aircraft, including a Minerva and Focke Wulf, had successfully landed on runway 24 prior to the Grumman which had the registration G-KINL.

In conclusion, the report said the organisers would implement a series of safety improvements, including risk assessments of the runway prior to the country fair.
