Game of Thrones Gets Live Concert Tour In 2017

Thank ALL the gods! Seven books and eight seasons of the fantasy drama tale is obviously not enough.

Songs from the HBO series are set to be performed with a full orchestra and choir, in what is promised to be a “music and visual experience that will bring the Seven Kingdoms to life on a scale never seen before.”

Mhysa, The Children, and Light of the Seven are on the setlist.

The only teeny tiny snag is the show doesn’t appear to be coming to the UK, yet. It kicks off in Kansas City in the US, from February, and will hit 28 cities, including Los Angeles, New York City and Las Vegas. A trio of shows will take place in Canada. But we’re hopeful the idea will catch fire and cross the Atlantic, somehow…

The show’s composer Ramin Djawadi explained his vision and said LED screens will play the most popular scenes from the show at the same time to create an “immersive” event.

According to Variety, he said: “I wanted something that takes you beyond just watching an orchestra play with things happening onstage that will enhance the musical experience.”

“We designed a stage that will be 360 degrees. There won’t be a bad seat in the house.”

The idea for the tour was hatched in the studio when Ramin played music for the show to its creators.

He recalled: “We were in the studio together reviewing some music and one of them said, ‘I would love to see this live. I want the full orchestra. I want to see a choir.’ So we went from there.”

Tickets go on sale on Live Nation on August 13.
