Yahoo News Game of Thrones star says there will "never be a remake" of season 8 after petition

Game of Thrones' final season drew record-breaking numbers, but not everybody was satisfied with how the last few episodes turned out.
The concluding instalments of the HBO fantasy epic have been criticised by fans of the show for the way they handled several character arcs, which has led to a viral fan petition asking for season 8 to be remade drawing more than 1.3 million signatures.
But any suggestion that HBO will redo the final season has been shut down by Tormund Giantsbane actor Kristofer Hivju in an interview with CNN's Connect the World.
"I am happy with the ending but that is the essence of Game of Thrones," he said. "People should be discussing everything, and people should be doubting everything because it's unexpected.
"When you have a TV show where you kill the main character in the first season then everything can happen, and Game of Thrones doesn't follow of the rules of storytelling. It follows the rules of life.
"I think the passion is fantastic, but there will never be a remake.
"What we've made is what we've made, and I'm very proud of it."
Elsewhere, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) revealed what she would like changed if the final season were to be hypothetically remade.
Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) called the petition "disrespectful to the crew, and the writers, and the filmmakers".
The series finale for Game of Thrones saw Daenerys killed by Jon Snow (Kit Harington). Meanwhile, Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) was named the new ruler of Westeros, and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) becomes Queen in the North.
