Gary Neville sends two-word Leicester City message after Premier League promotion
Gary Neville has offered his congratulations to Leicester City following their promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking with celebrations set to continue.
City’s place back in the top division was sealed on Friday night without them having to kick a ball, after promotion rivals Leeds United's 4-0 defeat against Queens Park Rangers. The result sparked celebrations among both the squad and fans, with City sharing clips of the players’ reactions as they got together at manager Enzo Maresca’s house.
The team are back in action for the first time since promotion was sealed on Monday night, when they take on Preston North End at Deepdale. A win in that match will also see them confirmed as champions.

Neville, who covers the Premier League for Sky Sports, has now given his reaction to the club’s promotion back to the division. Although he did admit that he doesn’t keep as close eye on the Championship as he does other leagues.
“Obviously the famous season, it was amazing, and they’ve bounced straight back up, I think they needed to,” he told Sky Sports’ the Gary Neville Podcast . “They’ve done well, they’ve done it in good style, some good football along the way.
“There’s two leagues in this country that I’ve never had exposure to, League Two I’ve been stuck in for five years and I’ve watched every single week, so I know quite a bit about League Two, I know quite a bit about the Premier League and I know a lot about the non-leagues because I watched hundreds of games for Salford while we were coming through. But League One and the Championship are the games, you can’t watch everything can you?
“Everyone says it’s the toughest league and it’s a marathon, so well done to Leicester for getting out of the Championship and back into the Premier League. Sheffield United we’ve lost, so sad for them, but they were never up to it, and we’ll see what happens between Burnley, Luton and Nottingham Forest.”
After the game against Preston, City end their season with a home game on Saturday afternoon. They take on Blackburn at the King Power Stadium with there still a possibility that Rovers could drop into League One if results don’t go their way.
