Nottinghamshire is lucky enough to be the home of Center Parcs, with the 400-acre Sherwood Forest site just a few miles away from Edwinstowe and the headquarters is based in Ollerton. The holiday park is like its own little town, and has everything you might need during your holiday away from the busy streets and noisy traffic.

From the Subtropical Swimming Paradise to activities like falconry and zipwires, there is so much to do and see during your stay. However, in the last year or so the team on the site have been working hard to make it even better with the addition of some new features and some refurbishments.

This includes the newly launched Las Iguanas, which is based in the former Starbucks building in the village square. There is already a Bella Italia and Cafe Rouge in the village, as well as Rajinda Pradesh and Huck's American Bar and Grill, so with the addition of Las Iguanas you really can enjoy food from all over the world.

Another popular new feature are the two nine-hole adventure golf courses which opened last Easter. You can choose to do either one course or put them both together for an 18-hole course, but it's a great activity that the whole family of all ages and abilities can enjoy together.

If you are a regular visitor you may also notice changes happening at The Foresters, as this beloved country-style pub is having a refurbishment to become a new business. Village director Chris Ruston said: "One of the big changes for Sherwood this year is we are closing a restaurant called Foresters' Inn and we are going to relaunch that as a venue called Dozing Duck which will be a gastro pub."

Dozing Duck will be exclusive to Sherwood Forest and if it proves popular it could be rolled out to the other sites. Mr Ruston added that each year the business as a whole spends around 17 to 18 million pounds reinvesting into its sites, whether that's with refurbishments, repairs or new additions.

Regarding the Dozing Duck, whilst it will still have a play area for the kids like The Foresters' Inn did, the squash courts are being relocated to the sports centre.

However, the changes don't stop there as the site has recently relaunched its conference and events centre. The Venue is a new multi-million-pound building with a modern yet practical design, so that it can be used as smaller conference rooms, or the walls can be moved to create larger rooms for bigger meetings.

The building, which has great views of the lake, is located close to the village square and is proving popular with other businesses in the area.
