Gaten Matarazzo warns his Stranger Things character might die

Gaten Matarazzo has warned his Stranger Things character could be killed off in a shock turn of events.

The 21-year-old actor has played Dustin Henderson in the Netflix sci-fi-horror drama since he was 13-years-old and the show is finally nearing an end.

The fifth and final season is in full swing of filming after being delayed multiple times - with the last batch of episodes set to hit screens next year, three years after season four.

Gaten has assured fans that the cast and crew are working hard to get the last episodes wrapped as quickly as possible.

He told TMZ, "Well we want to get it out as quickly as we can, you know what I mean? It's just a big season so it's taken a bit to shoot and there are a little bit of delays from the pandemic and both of the strikes and stuff."

But when asked which character should be killed off in the last ever season, he chose his own.

He told the outlet, "I'm gonna go for myself I think - why not?

"I hope toward the end of it, if it's gonna happen, I want to be in it as much as I can. I want to hang out with my buds as much as I can."

Stranger Things has been a tentpole for Netflix original dramas, debuting in 2016 and introducing Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp to millions of TV fans around the world.

The show also revived the career of Winona Ryder, who plays Joyce Byers, and boosted the career of David Harbour, who plays police chief Jim Hopper, while also achieving critical and fan acclaim.
